This website hosts OWL Wiki Forms (OWF), an extension to MediaWiki, Semantic MediaWiki and Semantic Forms. OWF facilitates the creation of form-based interfaces on semantic wikis for entering data that conforms to given Semantic Web ontologies. The three core aspects of OWF's approach are:
- automatic processing of given ontologies to generate semantic browser interface specifications as Fresnel style data
- consequent automatic processing of Fresnel style data to generate browse-and-annotate interfaces on semantic wiki's
- the ability of wiki administrators to add "cascading" Fresnel style data to tailor the interfaces OWF automatically generates
Thus, OWF makes semantic wiki interface creation more efficient by generating a default interface for given ontologies. Then the human semantic wiki stylist can further tailor this interface by adding Fresnel style that specifies only the difference between the generated default and desired interface.
For an overview of OWF's functionality see the OWF user manual.
A predecessor of OWL Wiki Forms is Semantic Friendly Forms, the result of a Bachelors student group project at the Open Universiteit. Its creators are Rens te Kloese, Henri Gerrits and Mark Rotteveel.

- August 28th, 2013: Protege Fresnel editor released. The Protege Fresnel editor is the result of a Bachelors Thesis project at the Open University in the Netherlands. It is a plugin voor the Protégé-OWL ontology editor. It makes a tab that generates a browsing interface specification for the current ontologies in the Protégé-OWL session. This tab also give an UML diagram-like GUI voor editing this interface specification. It can then save this interface specification in a file containing RDF triples that follow the Fresnel ontology for Semantic Browser interfaces.
- December 30th, 2013: OWF Wiki Forms version 0.2.1 released. Updated and tested for the most recent versions of MediaWiki, Semantic MediaWiki and other required extensions, and the Jena Fuseki SPARQL server. Also fixes some minor bugs and has various code improvements, including some suggested by Cameron Angus McLean and Tobias Käfer (thanks!). Download and install it via the OWF installation page. For an overview of its functionality, see the OWF user manual.
